Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2010 (Sunday)

The regular meeting of the Five Gates Household was held on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 6:06 p.m., at Seamus and Sorcha's keep in Woodland Park, Idaho. The Acting Seneschal being in the chair and the Acting Chronicler was absent, with the Acting Herald acting in his stead. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as corrected by unanimous voice vote.

Present were the following members:
Lochlainn; Seamus; Shannon; Yngvildr; Ansgar;
Sorcha; Ysabeau; Maximus; Margaret

Old Business:

We are to keep our proposal in mind that needs to be presented to Silverhart. Members are asked to jot down ideas for discussion.

The following members were acclaimed as officers:

• Roland: Master Of Stables (heavy fighting)
  
• Larry: Master of Swords (fencing)
  
• Connaich: Arts and Sciences
  

It was suggested that Sorcha be Chatelaine; however, she has not yet responded on whether or not she would be willing to accept the position.

Margaret agreed to call Bill Clapper regarding the use of the Old Auditorium for practices (heavy fighting, rapier and archery). She was also going to see how much it would cost to have an event there and a feast.

Shannon was going to see if James could see who owned the old Burke Ballfield as it is not known if BLM owns it or a private person. Lochlainn was going to see about some property near Cataldo.

It was also discussed as to whether we could have an event at the Cataldo Mission, like the Mountain Men do, or not.

We have a tentative date for our event. August 13 - 15. Places to be named when we get all the information from our people back.

James was going to see if he could translate "Trials of the Keymaster" into Latin, or perhaps Gaelic or Norse.

The overall champion would be called "the Keymaster" or "Holder of the Keys." All other champions will be called "Gatekeepers."

Announcements

Next weekend there will be a pouch making clinic going in Sagle.

We are going to try and have regular practices on Saturdays at Seamus's keep. Information will be put on the list.

The time and location of the next meeting will be announced at a later date.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
