Meeting Minutes
February 8, 2009 (Sunday)

12 People in attendance, 6:13 p.m.

Old Business:

Bids for Defender of the Hart were due today. One person presented a bid. Jonosh won the bid.

Fimbulvinter: The theme for the day is Festival of Folls. We will turn the day upside down. There will be fighting, rapier if enough people show up, dancing, feasting and court. Weezil will come out o do metal work with the kids. There will be crown decorating for the kids as well. Consulting heraldry will be available. We need kitchen volunteers. Jonosh will try to find these ahead of the event. We need kitchen clean up. If there are less people than anticipated, the feast will be potluck. If it is crowded, it will be a served feast.

Officers

CHATELAINE: No new contacts for January. Letters were sent to State Parks regarding potential use for demos. Sukei will meet with people at the State Parks to better explain what we do. They have concerns about the weapons used. On June 6 there will be a 4 hour demo and another on July 11. Day shades are ok to use. As we get closer to the demos, Sukei will request fighters, artisans. There will be no target archery, but combat archery will be allowed.

GOLD KEY: Nothing to report. Will be at Fimbulvinter. We do have 4 sets of loaner feast gear.

CHRONICLER: Received Emmeline's notes from past meetings. Still need Sorcha's minutes. Jorg will look to see if he has them.

LISTS: Not present.

EXCHEQUER: $933.94 in the bank.

HERALD: There have been no events, so there has been no heraldic activity. I did look into the current standing of the Barony of Wealdsmere's submissions last year for new award badges and reported on their progress to the Baron and Baroness. (They were to be decided on in December of 2008. There was no report as to whether a decision was made yet. But they did pass the kingdom level decision making and were currently out int he known world for commentary. It looks promising.) The Order of Precedence is currently down, so I have been trying to create a database of local awards held. In my database, I am including Wealdsmere, Silverhart, Pendale, Grimwith and Lyonsmarche as we all play together so much.

A&S: The shoe class is coming up on February 28 at Sir Michael's. They must be sewn up and dry before. Bring a rubber sole (Buy it online) or make a leather sole. Let Jorg know if you want the leather sole. Kingdom A&S competition is March 7 in Tri Cities. This is A&S to the next level. Silverhart had it's monthly A&S on February 7 and had 10 people attend. We followed it by an impromptu potluck. If anyone is interested in learning a specific culture or technique, please let Lily know. Sukei will do a class on Kimonos in the near future. We will announce when he is ready.

MASTER OF STABLES: Not present. Fighter practice has been occurring.

SENESCHAL: Receipts were given to the exchequer. Not a lot to report. Jonosh was given the autocrat binder. There is another binder available if anyone needs it. Jorg donated a tote to hold the autocrat stuff. Lily was given the autocrat tote. Announcement for fighters: if you plan to enter the crown lists, you must show proof that you are a paid member for the entire duration of your potential reign should you win. There is information about this in the Crier. This means you could be required to purchase a two year membership depending on when the tourney is. Contact the people who posted the information in the Crier if you wish to weigh in on this issue. The next meeting is March 1st. Do we want to keep meeting at Hastings? There is a possibility we could use the clubhouse where A&S is held. Arabella will check into it. There is a new shop on the corner of Honeysuckle and Government called the Donut House. They will allow us to meet there. We will discuss this further at the next meeting, which will be at Hastings as usual. ¼ reports were due last month in the first week of January. If you have not done so, please include Jorg in your copies.

WEALDSMERE: The Baron was present.

New Business:

Sukei is interested in creating a new event in the future, likely summer 2010. To this end, he will hold a mask making class. You make one for the event first, then you can make one for yourself. Details will be forthcoming.

Meeting adjourned 6:55 p.m.
